Group undertakes another medical mission to Guyana

A medical mission is expected to leave for Guyana soon to perform surgeries free to deserving individuals. A report says the mission will be led by Dr. Rahul Jindal and will include a team of other doctors and nurses as well as a few Guyanese who have helped to organize the mission.

This will be the group’s 11th medical mission launched in Guyana. Dr. Jindal previously led the team to Guyana. Dr. Jindal is the Transplant Surgeon, Department of Surgery at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is also Clinical Professor, Department of Medicine at the George Washington University.

The mission will be operating and conducting clinics at the Balwant Singh Hospital (BSH), Georgetown from December 11th to 18th.

The mission’s report says the team will be undertaking two kidney transplants and some specialized procedures.

The team comprises seven medical professionals and George Sobhraj, Lake Persaud and Jas Persaud. Sobhraj had accompanied the team on all of its missions to Guyana and funded the costs of the operations.
